So I googled ‘indulge’ today and man, I would have all of what came up, thanks for asking.
It’s a good plan to indulge, it is a good plan to say yes to yourself and to say yes to good health.
I was in hospital this last weekend with someone from an event I was working at, and she said something that really stuck out for me – Health is wealth – at the time I was rather disregarding about it… but then it stopped me in my tracks and here is why.
I have a tendency to just expect my body to be able to do what I would like to it, expect it to be good at whatever the brain decides to do; from riding horses to being a friend to someone.
I don’t like to admit defeat, I like to think that I need only 6 hours sleep rather than the 8 hours that actually enable me to function, and I enjoy being on top of my game.
But actually, sometimes this can come at the expense of my health – I can get cranky knees, a painful back and I can start to resent myself for pushing myself and people around me suffer too…
And so the lady’s words arrived at a good time for me… Slow down, enjoy your health over wealth.
Health is wealth.
Yes please to that cover photo any day… with bubbles and a Bailey’s.
Until next time Friend…
