As a family at the beginning of the year, we write down goals and dreams for the year – trying to be as big and as bold as possible.
Mostly we end up with dreams that include riding ponies more or having a celebrity know our name or something deeper and more profound. It’s fun to look back over the years.
Personally I’m really good at stating a fact – that I’ll do something and then if I’m lucky, will I actually achieve it but this seldom happens. One thing I did follow through with was getting a puppy in my last year of university. If I had followed my claims – I would have invented a loo that follows you wherever you go, developed a way of feeding horses from my bed and also created a mechanism with which to turn my light switch on and off from my bed.
I would also be married to William Fox Pitt.
I like to dream big.
As the title implies – one would except that writing ideas down increases the chance of the dream or goal coming into fruition – I wonder if subconsciously it does.
We seem to find that at the end of the year of stated desires, we are somewhat closer to the goal or already completing it in some way.
My heart wishes I could say the same about my marriage with the Fox himself though…
Just a little thing to ponder in times to come
